Does anyone know the purpose of the relay on the circuit board? is it a ground fault interrupt of some kind? I think it may be a way for the circuit to protect itself in case the heater coil draws too much current. I have not been able to document any relays used in a ground fault interrupt circuit and I have yet to find a ground fault interrupt system that is not attached to a house.
