Video & Collaboration Services provides video streaming with a Real Video streaming server and a Windows Media streaming server. The Real server is capable of delivering 200 simultaneous video streams to viewers. The Windows Media server is capable of delivering unlimited simultaneous video streams to viewers. Information on how to get video players, how to make Real Media files, and how to arrange for live webcasts is located here. We are able to stream Real Media, Windows Media, and Quicktime files. There is no per-stream or other direct cost associated with streaming of stored video files. However, there may be a cost associated with storing those video files. For information on the costs involved and on how to obtain an account on the server, visit our Video Storage page.

The Video & Collaboration Services Live Stream is a live encoded video stream that broadcasts the ATTV feed, satellite downlinks in progress, or other VCS events. The stream requires the latest version of Real Media to view. You can arrange to live stream your own events by contacting VCS. The cost for live streaming is $50 per hour plus a $50 per event setup fee.

High quality streaming from MediaSite is available for $100 per hour. This service provides a high quality computer image capture in addition to a Windows Media video stream. Examples of this service can be found on the UF Bridges Training page.

For a fee of $15 per hour of content you can have a VHS tape converted to a Windows Media or Real Media file and burned on CD or uploaded to your video storage account. The CD is included in the price. Please allow up to a five day turnaround.

To request a streaming event, please fill out our Service Request Form, at least two weeks prior to your event.
