Video & Collaboration Services provides and coordinates several different technologies that allow UF faculty, staff, and students to interact at a distance.
The Office of Academic Technology will fund a pilot project whereby any official numbered UF course will be eligible for videoconferencing, including use of video-capable conference rooms if needed, at no charge, for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 academic years.
Portable videoconferencing carts are available for a standard fee of $25 per hour, plus a $50 per-event setup fee, which includes use of videoconferencing equipment, site setup. Monitoring and assistance by an on-site technician is available for an increased rate of $50 per hour. Most classrooms and other spaces on campus with high-quality network connections are also available for use as videoconferencing sites.
Conference rooms are available for rent at $25/hr, equipment usage not included. The rooms are located in CSE, Norman Hall, and Turlington Hall.
Multi-point conferencing services are available for creating multi-site videoconferences. MCU Usage Instructions are Here. Ad-hoc multi-point conferences are available free-of-charge at any time there is available bandwidth. Multi-point high-profile conferences requiring dedicated bandwidth and scheduling will require a $5 per-event setup fee. Repeating conferences will only require a single per-event fee.
