Mission

The primary mission of the Collegiate Veterans Society is to support, advocate, and counsel veterans and their families.  This shall be accomplished by the dissemination of useful and pertinent information that can and will assist the veteran and his or her family in their pursuit of academia.  Veteran issues shall be brought to the school administration and local, state and federal legislatures with a zeal and determination that is to be expected from the men and woman who have contributed to the defense of this nation.

The Collegiate Veterans Society shall be a second family to veterans.  Having all born the burden of service and sacrifice, the Collegiate Veterans Society will be able to provide an environment of appreciation and understanding as veterans and their families pursuit their goals while at the University of Florida.

IT IS THE SOLDIER...

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.
