PRESENTING MAX!

MAX is Message & Announcement Exchange.  Clicking on the MAX link either on our main page or further down on this page will take you to the MAX page.  There are further helpful instructions for MAX available under the link MAX help page.  The first time you go to this page you will need to select the link for MAX Account Registration Page.  Here, you will be asked for your Real Name, password (twice), SSN, and email address.  When you are done, click submit.

From the main page you will see a drop down list of names under the heading of "Please select your user name from the list below."  Select your name, type in your password, and click submit.  If your user name has been verified by us you will see the announcements and and account summary page.  This displays the current announcments if there are any and also information about your activity and what you are allowed to do.  Your permissions include adding topics, subtopics and messages.  Also you can post anonymously (though the TAs and the Instructor will know who sent it) so that other students won't know who posted that message.  Clicking on the "Enter the Message & Announcement eXchange" button will take you to the real part of MAX.

Here, various topics will be shown in the left frame.  Clicking on these topics will show the subtopics within them.  Clicking on subtopics will change the top-right frame to display the messages in that subtopic.  The bottom-right frame shows the functions you are allowed to do (Add a New Topic, Add a New Subtopic, Add a New Message).  Red dots to the left of topics indicate that there is a message under that topic that you have not read.  New messages are also shown in red.

The TAs will be checking MAX for questions regarding assignments and such.  If you have a question not grade related, post it to MAX.  Chances are someone else has the same question too.  Also, if you see a question you can answer, feel free.  Sometimes you can explain things better than we can or you have solved a similar problem yourself.
