There are two Exams in this class. The Exams cover lecture and material from the assignments. There is no "final" exam. Exams 1, 2 are not cumulative. The Exams are closed book, closed notes and pretty difficult. Note that a large portion of your grade comes from these exams so make sure you study hard.

If for any reason (conflict with another exam/class, sickness, wedding, athletics, religion, bad hair day, etc.) you must miss Exam 1 or Exam 2 then you must take the Makeup Exam at the end of the term. It is a cumulative exam. You may not take the Makeup Exam to replace a low score you may only take it if you didn't take one of the exams. You do not have to inform us that you are taking the Makeup Exam just show up at the appointed time and place. There will be no other makeups and this is our conflict exam if you have another exam. The Makeup Exam may not be used in place of assignments, nor may it be used for the paper.

The samples are there to give you an idea of the type of questions asked. Actual material covered may vary from semester to semester. The questions are not purposely tricky, they are however very specific and should be read VERY carefully. There are many questions where the details can dramatically change the answer so read the entire question and all the answer choices before choosing an answer.

There is no sample makeup exam, just look at the samples for Exams 1 - 2.

See the Syllabus for the various weightings.

Material covered by each exam is explained during class and on the review sheets. The makeup exam covers the material from Exams 1, 2 (approximately 50% from each Exam).
