Location: University of Florida Fort Lauderdale
Research and Education Center, 3205 College Ave., 3205 College Ave.,
Davie, FL 33314 with field trips every day.
Objectives
- To learn how to collect, describe, and identify
grasses using technical characteristics
- To become familiar with 50 South Florida grass
species
- To complete a set of diagnostic descriptions
and drawings of about 15 grass species
- To understand the natural history and other
characteristics of grasses
Recommended supplies
- Hat, sunscreen, substantial footwear, insect
repellent, something to drink, lunch box
- Book, "How to identify grasses and grass-like
plants"
