The B.S. degree in Golf and Sports Turf Management Interdisciplinary Studies Program is at the University of Florida in Fort Lauderdale and other locations.  Here are some sample classes:

  

Tifway 419 bermudagrassTurfgrass Culture - will be taught starting August, 2007.  Learn the biology and management of lawns, golf courses, sod farms, sports fields, and roadsides, all part of the landscape ecosystem. Students strengthen knowledge in plant sciences and solve turf problems (insects, weeds, diseases) from diverse viewpoints in science and the environment.

Grass Biology - Taught every summer.

Landscape IPM- Currently taught (spring 2007).

 

Turfgrass industry
Golf and Sports Turf Management - Last taught Fall 2006 Goals are to survey golf course and sports field operations based on history, case study, and interview/lectures involving knowledgeable experts, and to develop as a class an information resource for solving golf and sports turf environmental management problems.

 

Genetics - Last taught Fall 2000.  Goals are to learn the principles of heredity and their application to all organisms, to establish a foundation for future courses in biology and medicine, and to understand future applications of genetics.
