Tri-Gators Meeting 9/27/01

 

 

1.       Waivers to fill out b/c last batch were flawed: Michele!!!!

2.     We need everyone on the roster for Sports clubs and also for Bike Route

3.     Workouts:

3.1.  Mondays 8pm track

3.2. Tuesdays cycling 4:45pm? at Rock

3.3. Wednesdays 6pm law school run

3.4. Thursdays 9:15pm spinning at Orion, meetings alt weeks at 8pm

3.5. Fridays 5pm swimming in FL Pool

3.6. Saturdays no official workouts scheduled

3.7. Sundays 9-11am swimming in FL Pool

3.9. Cycling: Team FL:  http://grove.ufl.edu/~cycling   has daily rides: MWF 4:30pm at Rock, TR Hipp rides at Hippodrome 6pm, weekend rides with GCC groups

4.     Races Reports:

4.1.  9/22          Big Lick Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship race: our men took 3rd in a field of 13 colleges, and our women showed well with Michele Moss taking 5th collegiate Female and Deb Gould leading onto the 10k walk… unfortunately the scoring system was adjusted to require 5 finishers and we did not have enough women along..

4.2.  9/23          Florida Challenge ˝ Ironman: congrats to all our finishers: Mandi Hall and Liz Bills who made a great show and took 2nd and 4th respectively in their age groups (Liz had 3rd but for 3!!! [undeserved] penalties. Also: Kevin Cahill and Shannon Crabtree. Apologies to anyone that I missed: good show all!

5.     Races Upcoming

5.1.  10/7          Battle of the Bridges Triathlon, Melbourne FL. We will reimburse for this race!  Enter online at active.com or download info from: http://www.cannoliman.com/and send in. Enter yourself – Dan Zahrly and Seabitch (Jason Victor) – rotcov@ufl.edu are accommodating people overnight. If you do not coordinate with Seabitch you cannot be reimbursed because we have to turn in very specific receipts.

5.2. 10/20         Great Floridian Ironman: we traditionally man a running aid station, that lasts from early afternoon (~1-2pm) through latenight (midnight?). We need all the volunteers we can get, and a good theme, because there’s a $1000 prize for best aid station.

5.3.  10/27          Ti Man triathlon ˝ / 20 / 4 ?? Sprint+ distance at Camp Blanding <1 hr. School covers costs (eventually).   ****We will update on this race – status is tentative right now because it is on armed forces facility****

6.     Sponsor Shop = Bike Route

6.1.  Helmet sizes went to Phil

6.2. Our bike order is in

6.3. Mike is going to interbike and trying to score us some good deals!

6.4. Parts and labour discount: 20% and more!!

6.5. Some girls uniforms may be left at Bike Route. Mens are gone.

6.6. Get fitted to your bike!!!
