Hello again
everyone!!
I would just like to say hello to all the new people!! Welcome to Trigators!
So we had a meeting yesterday. It was splendid. Bob Seebohar, the Director
of Sports Nutrition for UF athletes, came to talk to us about the proper
training and nutrition. He was quite informative. Kevin will put
all the information that he talked about on the webpage. I would suggest
reading it, it's very helpful, and interesting, and will help your
performance in races!!
Also, if you want to watch Iron Man
Plus, if you are new make sure you sign a sports club waiver, and if you
have done a past race, make sure to sign your reimbursement check at SW.
Also, there's a '50 mile off-Road Bike Eco-Tour' on
Basically this is not a race, but a 'rather challenging series of
trails'....to 'test you bike skills'... on 'rolling hills, shorts climbs,
sinkholes, the hydric hammock, and on the prairie.'
It's kinda like ...
'riding 50 miles w/o crossing a single road!' So it sounds like fun!!!
If
you're interested, I believe Christine has flyers on it. Plus,
the skeleton pictures on the front of the flyer are pretty cool too.
So that is it.
The End
ps: Useless knowledge:
Bob mentioned that a VO2 max (volume oxygen max)
test is just a test
of genetic potential. A normal human has a score of 50 on the VO2 max
while
elite athletes have a score of 70-85. However, horses have V02 max scores
of between 130 -150!! So no matter what, a horse will always be faster
than
you.
Go Gators!
