- Music provided by instructor
To develop performance skills on the various components
of the steel drum ensemble and discuss historical and cultural aspects of this
art form.
Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and
concerts as scheduled. Failure to
do this will result in a lowering of the student’s semester grade.
For every unexcused absence, the final grade will be lowered one letter
grade. An unexcused absence from a
performance will result in a failing grade.
Graduate assistants in the percussion area will instruct one steel drum
band. These instructors will assign
the grades for this group based on the above criteria.
Students are expected to practice outside of the
scheduled class time to prepare for rehearsal.
In addition, students are expected to assist in the care and maintenance
of the instruments.
The instructor will hear auditions during the first week
of class to determine placement in the ensemble.
November 16 - Fall Concert, 7:30 PM, Auditoium
April 8 - Spring Concert, 7:30 PM, Auditorium, Dress rehearsals TBA

statement:

Florida expects its students to be honest in all their academic work. I agree to
adhere to this commitment to academic honesty and understand that my failure to
comply with this commitment may result in disciplinary action up to and
including expulsion from the University."
We, the members of the University of Florida
community, pledge to hold ourselves and our peers to the highest standards of
honesty and integrity.
Furthermore, on work submitted for credit by
UF students, the following pledge is either required or implied:
