Beginning Spring Semester 2002, students no longer will be admitted into the Sports Communication MAMC specialization program.
The University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communication Graduate Committee made the decision to put the program on hiatus and is reviewing the program. Several factors have had a serious impact on the program including funding cuts from the state legislature to the University of Florida and the loss of five of the six faculty members most involved in the program due to retirement or new employment opportunities.
The college is committed to helping all current students in the program work toward completing their degrees. The graduate faculty periodically will review the program’s potential viability.
