The Laurence
R. Campbell Research Award Recipients
The award was created in 1984 to recognize the
lifetime contributions of Dr. Laurence Campbell to the field of scholastic
journalism. Members of his family were at the AEJMC convention at the University
of Florida for the announcement of the award. The award was established by
contributions
from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Journalism Education Association,
National Scholastic Press Association, Quill & Scroll,
South Carolina Scholastic Press Association and Southern Interscholastic Press
Association. The winner of the Campbel Research Award receives a plaque and
a cash award.
