    Sa ne fie de bine! Multe laude si multumiri se cuvin:
    - sarbatoritei Oana M--a carei placinta si tort de ciocolata au depasit in faima Gainesville-ul (acum lasind gluma la o parte,  Oana a muncit nu mult, ci foarte mult pentru petrecerea asta(dulciurile+brinza cu marar+salata gen boeuf+un curcan supranumerar+alergatura; stim ca toate le face din toata inima, dar la anul bine-am face s-o mai si ajutam, nu numai s-o laudam)
    -sarbatoritei Delia--pentru o salata de vinete BUNA si un curcan la fel de bun (acum la curcan ar trebui sa mai laudam si pe cine l-a carat si l-a taiat---adica pe Lucian);
    -sarbatoritei Cristina -- pentru checul aperitiv, chiftelutele cu castraveciori, ochiul si mina de organizator de simbata  si durerea de picioare de vineri ( cind am umblat trei ore prin magazine sa cumparam de toate, de la farfurii la marar)
    -sarbatoritului Ionut--pentru bautura pe toate gusturile si pentru toate giturile;
    -sarbatoritului Mundi--pentru ajutor in bani, pentru actiunea 'capturarea CD-player-ului' (la actiunea asta il mai laudam o data pe Lucian care a ajutat la transport si ii multumim si Diplanilor Anca si Pompi ca ne-au dat masina lor de zgomote) si pentru ajutorul cu curatenia de la sfirsit
    - Nicoletei si Stefaniei pentru ajutor in munca( plus prezenta artistica ->fetelor, in voi imi e speranta sa ajungem sa dansam romaneste pentru VISA talent show! anul asta ati scapat, dar la anul...)
    -- tuturor celor care au venit mai devreme sa ajute cu pusul bucatelor pe masa (Corneliu C intra aici),au imprumutat farfurii si castroane ( Oana C,
    subsemnata) au adus ceva de mincat/baut ( lista lunga aici, +++Andreea, bun e vinul romanesc!) sau de cintat (Iulica, Corneliu M), au ajutat cu curatenia finala ( Mihai C., un gospodar 'natural') sau pur si simplu AU VENIT SI S-AU SIMTIT BINE !

    WHEN:  1st of December 2000, 11 am- 2 pm
    WHERE:  Reitz Union Colonnades
    WHAT: mini-exhibition of Romanian traditional and modern objects, photos from Romania, Romanian music
    This one was a real success,  pictures and stories to be posted  in here

    For December 1st, the National Day of Romania, the officers of our organization decided to 'have a celebration'.  Our usual specialty (the best parties around, certified) was not appropriate (end of school semester, middle of the Eastern Christian = Orthodox fasting period`) so we devised a variation.

    In the XXth Century, Romania changed 4 National Days (and, depending on how one counts, at least 4 political forms of government). 1st of December is the National Day of Romania since 1990.  It celebrates 1st of December 1918, the day when the National Assembly decided in Alba-Iulia, the unification of Transylvania, Banat, Crisana, Satmar and Maramures with the kingdom of Romania.

    If you read Romanian, a very instructive page about the history of December 1 is maintained by the Institute for Cultural Memory in Bucharest( click here UNIRE , thanks to our advisor, Dr. Florin Curta, for telling us about this page).  Same server hosts an  English page about the subject.
