Micro-finance Donation


    We raised $25 to help finance a loan for Arafa Rajabu, a 64-year-old mother

    of five in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Upcoming Events General Meeting: Wed, Sept 24, 7:30 PM Reitz 283 Recurso holds meetings every other Wednesday in the Reitz Union. This week’s meeting will be held in Room 283. This meeting we will be introducing the Recurso Directors, discussing the schedule of events for the year, and enlisting volunteers to help coordinate and run the events. This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about our organization, or collaborating with Recurso. New Faculty Advisor: Dr. Renata Serra


Dr. Serra is a development economist, with special

interest in, and expertise on, Africa and India. She

got a PhD in Economics from the University of

Cambridge, UK, and subsequently worked as

Research Officer for the Poverty Programme at the

Institute of Development Studies, Sussex University;

she then moved to the University of Milano-Bicocca,

Italy; and returned to Cambridge, as Director of

Studies in Economics at Wolfson College, until joining the University of Florida in August 2005.


She has served as a consultant on a number of projects in various African countries, sponsored by DFID, SIDA, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the World Bank, and Save the Children Fund, UK.
