Next Meeting – The President of Edelman’s
Southeast region, Claudia Patton, will kick off UF PRSSA’s Speaker Series
on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in Turlington L007.
Membership
Applications and Dues
– To drop off your applications and payments, please come to the Student
Organization Office, which is located in the back of the Student Lounge
in Weimer (on the 2nd floor by the vending machines). Please
do not take applications or payments to the PR Office. Below are the
Student Organization Office hours, but you can also bring your
application and payment to the next meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at
6:30 p.m. in Turlington L007.

Conference is
in San Diego, Calif. from Nov. 7 – 10, 2009, and it is hosting a variety
of speakers that will share experience in travel and tourism, crisis
communications, fashion public relations, entertainment public relations,

Internship
of the Week
Corporation
Communications Intern – Gainesville Regional Utilities, Gainesville, Fla.
Two paid
corporate communications internships with GRU are available in January
2010. One position is for the spring term, ending in May 2010, and the
other is for one year, until December 2010.
GRU will be
at the Knight Division job and internship fair on October 22. Any
interested candidates should sign up beginning September 14 for the fair
and pick a time they'd like to interview with GRU.

Events Coordinator – The Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, PA.
The Wistar Institute is an international leader in basic
biomedical research with specific expertise in cancer research and
vaccine development. Founded in 1892 as the first independent nonprofit
biomedical research institute in the country, Wistar has long held the
prestigious Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute.
The Institute works actively to ensure that research advances move from
