Welcome -
Hello all new and returning members! Thank you for joining and rejoining
UF PRSSA. We are extremely excited about this year and anxious to get our
committees up and running. Currently, we are working on reviewing
applications. Because members are able to choose their top two committee
choices, the process can be somewhat time consuming. Depending on your
committee, you will be contacted throughout this week, but regardless,
you will be contacted no later than Friday, Sept. 25.

National Conference is in San Diego, Calif. from
Nov. 7 – 10, 2009, and is hosting a variety of speakers that will share
experience in travel and tourism, crisis communications, fashion public

Internship
of the Week
Public Relations Intern – The Dignity Project, Gainesville,
Fla.
The public relations intern will work closely with The
Dignity Project’s Executive Director and administrative staff to carry out
current projects and create new public relations strategies. In
this position, the intern will become acquainted with the agency’s
programs, history and vision. The following are illustrative of
tasks that may be included within the public relations intern’s scope of
work: assist with publication of the agency’s quarterly newsletter;
create or update brochures, fact sheets, fliers, etc.; assist with
special event planning and coordination; perform website updates; assist
with planning, development and/or coordination of one or more agency
fundraising events.
