New to the University of Florida?

Pam, the Pride Student Union Logo Welcome to the Gator Nation! The University of Florida is not only one of the top 50 national universities as ranked by the 2008 U.S. World and News Report, but UF is also a safe space for LGBTQQIA students to live, learn, and grow. The University of Florida received a 4 out of 5 stars ranking in the National Campus Climate Index conducted by Campus Pride, the national clearing house for LGBT concerns on college and university campuses.

The Pride Student Union is working diligently to ensure that all students of many identities find a safe home here at the University of Florida. For LGBTQQIA students, we encourage you to check out our upcoming events, which includes "PSU Wet'n'Wild!" in Summer B and the "LGBTQ Student Welcome Assembly" in Fall, both part of Weeks of Welcome. Also make sure to check out information about our weekly meetings, which are held each Monday at 8:00pm in the Fall and Spring as a chance to gather socially and talk with other LGBTQQIA students about a topic facing our community.

Announcing "OUTspoken"

Are you an instructor, faculty member, or graduate student teaching in the Social Sciences or Humanities? Are you a member of a student organization executive board looking to co-sponsor an event or provide your membership with information about the LGBTQQIA community? Consider requesting a panel of LGBTQQIA-identified persons to come speak! Formerly known as the Speaker's Bureau, OUTspoken is the Pride Student Union's premiere advocacy, education, and outreach service, dedicated to assisting the University of Florida and the Gator Nation in its journey towards awareness, acceptance, and equality. All panelists are trained to "tell their story" and answer all questions your students or peers may have about LGBTQQIA experiences and identities. For more information about OUTspoken or similar services, check out our services page or contact the Vice-President of Education, Evan W. Lauteria, at vpeducation@ufpride.org.
