G. Paul Moore Symposium

What is it?

The G. Paul Moore Symposium is an annual event which aims to expose UF students and area professionals to pertinent topics in the fields of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.

The Symposium is NSSLHA's landmark event through which we give back to local SLP and AuD professors, students, and professionals. By hosting the Symposium we give them a local venue for continued education (required by ASHA). It also shows them that NSSLHA cares about them and the field of CD.

When will it take place this year?

February 3rd and 4th at 9 am at the Emerson Alumni Hall across from the O'Connell Center at UF on University Avenue!

What speakers will be there?

February 3rd guest speaker is Dr. John Greer Clark
February 4th guest speaker is Dr. Joseph Duffy

Who organizes the event?

The event is organized and presented by the University of Florida Chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association and the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida.

Who is G. Paul Moore?

G. Paul Moore was a Professor Emeritus and scholar in the Communication Sciences field. The symposium is organized in honor of Dr. Moore's excellent contributions in the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology.

More information for students:

The G. Paul Moore Symposium is an excellent opportunity to gain more knowledge about professionals and research within the field. As a CSD major at UF, most professors will require you to attend the symposium during the period you normally have class. A sign-in sheet will be available at a table at the event. Business dress is required.
