Resources > Tipping

Tipping in the USA is very different from anywhere else in the world. It is very important to tip both
in bars and in restaurants.

Bars:

For Beers, tip a dollar every other drink, even if it's free. For pitchers, tip a dollar every pitcher. Mixed
drinks and hard alcohol, tip a dollar or more (depending on the cost) every drink.

Restaurants:

Tip 15 to 20% of your bill. Even when the service is very bad, you need to tip at least 10%. In general,
try to tip 15% minimum. It is important because a waiter's salary is very low; he basically lives off tips.

Keep this in mind whenever you go out and remember to always tip!
