Biography


Dr. Mike Allen is a fisheries scientist whose work has focused on management of sportfishes in freshwater lakes and reservoirs.  His research efforts have included effects of harvest restrictions on largemouth bass and crappie populations.  He frequently investigates factors affecting survival and recruitment of sport fish and other species in lakes and reservoirs.  He joined the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in June 1997 and is currently investigating fishery concerns throughout Florida.
