While attending the University of Florida I have taken many courses that are project based in nature. Below are a few of the projects I have completed that I feel show my technical abilities well, as well as a few non-technical projects such as written lessons and papers.

The following project was completed for EME 6405 - Educational Technology and the Teacher.

The link will take you to a short (7 minute) informative movie about Florida Sinkholes. The movie shows the devastation sinkholes bring to Florida's lakes, wildlife and its' economy. The movie was filmed on location in Orange Lake and Paynes Prairie Florida. Animation was created with the use of still drawings created in PhotoShop and Flash animation. The intended audience is 2nd-4th grade elementary students.

The following project was completed for EME 5207 Designing Technology Rich Curriculum.

The link will take you to a webquest I created as part of a technology rich unit on the US Government. The lesson was designed for a third grade social studies class. The webquest guides the students through an online tour of the White House and gives them questions to answer that keep them on track while online.

The following project was created for EME 5405 The Internet in K-12 Instruction.

The link will take you to a class web page that has been set up and is ready for adaptation to a real classroom. The site includes information for other teachers, parents and students including a copy of the class internet safety policy.

The following projects were completed for EME 5403 Introduction to Computing I.

This link will take you to a two minute iMovie about cell phones on campus. It shows my ability to use a camera, iMovie software and to convert the movie into a Quicklime format. The movie itself uses stills, transitions, and voice-over to create a sound track.

This semester I did not take any technical classes. I was enrolled in an educational psychology course and a course on school curriculum dev elopement. For both of these classes the requirements were tests and written papers.

I wrote a research proposal for research on the likelihood that computers will be integrated in the classroom based on the instructor's degree of computer efficacy.

I also interviewed a teacher, observed her and did a written comparison between what the teacher did versus what the teacher though she did with regard to curriculum. This research resulted in two separate papers and an in-class presentation on my findings.

This semester I wrote an instruction unit following the principles of Instructional Design for ESE 6939 Instructional Design I

The plan contains all the teaching materials needed to have third grade students complete a unit on money and US economy. Unfortunately, it is too long to put on the web as there are many components included. Email me if you would like to see a copy. I can send you one.

The following link will take you to a website I created to showcase the work I did at Metcalfe Elementary School in a third grade classroom. The site contains pictures, short movies and great science links.

This was a wonderful opportunity for me to integrate technology in an authentic manner into this an elementary school science curriculum.

Check back to see a graphic of my final poster project for EME 7938. It shows the implications for teachers, designers and research for electronic storybooks.
