The Mangrove.
The University of Florida's Literary Review
The Mangrove is excited to start again on its great, arduous process to present the world the best creative endeavors the students of the University of Florida have to give. It's that time of year again: kick-start your art and show us what you have.

Announcements

We're still accepting submissions until December 1st. Check back here in the Spring for updates on how the magazine is getting along!

Can I submit?

Yes! Any undergraduate student from the University of Florida can submit to the Mangrove; your college and major is not a factor in your ability to be creative.

So, what can I submit?

Any artistic, creative expression you'd like to share for us and your fellow students. Specifically, we publish creative fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and visual artwork, but we've accepted alternative writing in the past, such as stageplay scripts. If you can blow our minds, we'll find a way to put you in.

Great! How do I submit?

Your submissions should be sent as an attachment to mangrovezine@yahoo.com. You can also submit it over our new online form!

Wait, "submissions?"

If you can't decide what to send us, don't hesitate to send us more than one submission! Sometimes we publish more than one work from the same author, usually short poetry.

When is my deadline?

Dec. 1, 2008 -- but don't wait until the last minute! Feel free to send us work you may have lying around right now, too.

What happens after that?

In late Spring, the Mangrove will host a release party to celebrate the published authors, distribute the magazines, and enjoy some coffee while published authors read their fine work. Out of the published works, three will be featured in the magazine and their authors will be encouraged to read at the release party and win a nifty prize to reward to author's creative efforts.

About this party...

We will send an email in Spring letting everyone know more details about the release party, which as of yet aren't finalised. You can also check our website in Spring our weekly progress and eventually the date, time, and place for the grand event.

Wait, I still have a question...

If you still have some unanswered or a specific question, don't hesitate to email Amanda Justice.
