Hi... You're awfully brave to be reading this far... Or bored, one of the two. %)
At a guess, you've figured out my name. If not, take a close look at the top of your screen, and read the name a little closer. Don't worry about pronouncing it correctly.
Anyway, I'm a 30 year old computer smasher, er, programmer who lives in Florida. Gainesville, to be exact, home of the University of Florida. I currently work for CIRCA, the Center for Instructional Research and Computing Activities (Say that three times fast) as a Sr. Systems Programmer in the PC Novell group. Sounds fancy, but what it means is that I spend a lot of time copying files back and forth across the network. Lately, I've been dubbed the Resident Mad Scientist.Hobbies include Motorcycles, British Cars, Astronomy, reading, goofing off, and sleeping.
Note: It should be noticed that of these hobbies, I no longer have either the British Car or the motorcycle. One day...
Recently, however, I bought a 2000 Saturn SC2. While I won't be as... excessive... as some people about it, I thought I should include a picture on my homepage of it. Better pictures to follow later.
This is what I used to look like. No, really. Fortunately, in the
immortal words of John Cleese, "I got better!". If you're
really curious as to what this picture looks like, click on it.
It was taken in the top of Century Tower; The beam I'm holding is one
of the supports for the Carillon bells.
I have an on-again, off-again love-affair with Ray-Tracing. Don't have as much time for it as I'd like, but on occasion I get ambitious and create a new image.
Some of the
images I've done can be found here.
Favorite People on the Net:
By no means is this a complete listing... however, it's a list of several
people who I know and who have home pages on grove (In order to
maintain the style around here, I now break this group up into various
collections of people).
Actually, I got tired of this section. Everyone keeps moving around on me, so I gave up keeping it up to date. This means I nuked everyone but Jim. If you wanna be in here, send me e-mail, just to prove that someone I knew reads this page!
The Borg" - aka Skippy Podar The Martian Land Crab, aka Jim, aka James (Usually when he's wearing a tie). Note: Really nice homepage. You should check it out.
Most of the rest of the people I know on the Internet have either moved without leaving a forwarding address, or they've been too lazy to actually create a homepage. Not that this is a hint to those people, or anything...
Favorite Authors include David Eddings, Robert A. Heinlein, Katherine Kurtz and Christopher Stasheff.
More information as I get around to it.
Anyone offering me a circular disk with the word Tuit written on it will most likely be shot.
