The internal structure of the organization includes
a faculty advisor, Charles Harris, the director of the Knight Division
for Scholarships, Career Services and Multicultural Affairs. He
supports the members in fulfilling the purpose of the organization,
serves as a resource and represents JCAmbassadors to the community
and the University of Florida as needed.
Membership
As an honorary, non-profit organization, JCA members
are selected based upon scholastic excellence, extracurricular involvement
and career development. To apply, students must have taken MMC2100
or RTV2100 and be currently be registered students of the UF College
of Journalism and Communications. Membership requirements include
attending mandatory meetings and
fulfilling participation credits each semester as part of an accountability
system.
Committees
According to the needs of the organization, committees
may be formed at any time. Individuals interested in a leadership
position should relay their interests to the members of the executive
board. It is the responsibility of the chairperson to report the
progress of the committee to the rest of the organization and the
executive board.
