The Pathfinder Program is designed to meet your personal needs and structured to fit your schedule. By becoming a Pathfinder, you will receive a personal mentor in your major who will help guide you through any issues you are having and answer any questions. Your mentor will contact you to arrange meetings that best fit your schedule and discuss whatever is on your mind. He or she will also be available via e-mail and telephone to answer your questions between meetings. Begin by networking. If you're looking for a way to meet students within the college, here is your opportunity. Participate in the Pathfinder Program where you will meet other students in the College of Journalism and Communications who have succeeded both inside and outside the classroom. Talk to students who have already taken your classes. Learn about organizations you can join. Discover how others in your major found internships. You will receive a personal student mentor in your major who can answer your scheduling, college and career-related questions. Your mentor will also provide you with additional information crucial to your success in the college and beyond. Pack Professional. Campus involvement and relevant work experience are becoming the most critical factors to future success in the communications field. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare your professional suitcase now. As a Pathfinder, you will learn about internship and academic opportunities locally, nationally and internationally. You will also have the ability to participate in activities such as resume critiques, informational forums and socials hosted by the Journalism and Communications Ambassadors.
