Local HistoryOur chapter at UF was begun in the 1990's. In the year 2000 it dissipated due to a lack of turnover of responsibilities. During the fall semester of 2001 it was restarted and has since been gaining momentum. One of our main goals is to never stop gaining newer, younger members and training them to takeover once the old members graduate. |
National HistoryThe first NHBA Leadership Conference (NHBALC), formerly known as the Hispanic Business Student Leadership Conference (HBSLC), was held in February 1991, as the result of the 1989-1990 Executive Council of the Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA) at The University of Texas at Austin . The main purpose of the leadership conference was to promote the development of Hispanic students who show promise of becoming leaders in the business world. It was the intention of the founders that the leadership conferences become an annual event that would lead to the formation of a national network of Hispanic business student organizations and alumni. August 1993 marked the establishment of this organization, which was called the National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA). |

HSBA Today
The Hispanic Student Business Association is a business-oriented club that welcomes any student to join- you don't have to be a business major OR Hispanic! We meet once every two weeks on campus where presenters from different areas of business come to speak about what they do at their jobs and what the opportunities are for UF students there if they are interested. There is always free food and drink at our meetings and there are no membership fees! We also host a resume makeover session and a business golf clinic during the semester, along with socials for the members to get to know one another. Many former members of HSBA have found internships and jobs with connections they made through HSBA. |
