GSC is pleased to offer a growing number of research grants to UF students. These $250 reimbursement-based grants may be used to cover expenses related to a specific research project, thesis or dissertation. Grants cannot be used
towards the purchase of materials considered as personal items (e.g., cameras, reference books) and cannot be used to pay a stipend, salary, or research participant (including thank you gifts or gift certificates).
Reimbursements will not cover travel-related expenses, food, entertainment, or purchases made on department Pcards. In addition, items that must be inventoried by the University (i.e., total value exceeds $1000 or
considered highly susceptible to theft such as cameras) may not be approved. All expected purchases are subject to approval by the Student Government (SG) Finance Office. Due to the high volume of applications and
limited funding, we allocate these grants on a first-come, first-serve basis (based on a monthly allotment) to students whose academic departments are in compliance with the GSC Constitution.
To verify whether your department is in compliance, please contact your Department Representative. Each student from compliant
academic departments is eligible for one Research grant (or travel grant) per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Recipients of GSC travel grants are expected to present their research at the annual
GSC Interdisciplinary Research Conference.
