NEWS SUBMISSIONS
We accept news from outside sources, provided it is of possible interest to FUF members. To submit news to the website, please contact either Erin or John, not the webmaster.
As we discussed at the meeting, we've registered for a team at the Florida Film Fiasco. If you were not at the meeting, the Fiasco is a small filmmaking competition which is going on this Friday and Saturday from 8pm to 8pm. Each team is given a prop and a theme, and must make a quick film using them. We already have 6 or 7 people helping, but please let us know if you'd like to help as well. We have a camera and an editing platform, and are working on lighting. If anyone has questions or would like to help, call Chris at 305-724-5929. We will probably get together at 7:30 on Friday.
FUF is back for the new year. There's a meeting tonight at 7:20 in Turlington 2342.
I checked out the website today and realized that the feed for the list-serv updates was screwing up the whole website. It's fixed now, so the website should look ok again (unless you're in IE - try firefox).
FUF is currently on summer hiatus, but we'll be picking up again in the fall. If you're in town, or have some news to share, post it in the forums. I'll put up an email address soon so that if anyone wants to put a message in this space, he/she can.
In nerdier news, the site is now completely XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.1 valid, so it looks great in any modern browser (Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape/Safari) but IE is still having problems. When I get some free time (probably within the next week) I'll try to fix the IE problems so that the site will be nice and purdy for the fall.
I've added a list of the Cinerama winners to the "Cinerama" section. The ListServ section should be working as well and for all of you techie types, you can now subscribe to the FUF list as an RSS feed instead of through email; just check the side-bar.
