John Patrick Sterchi was born on May 21,1971 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After completing high school in his hometown at the age of eighteen, he began his engineering career as a student as Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg Virginia. In December of 1993, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from that institution, and shortly thereafter enrolled at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida to begin his graduate studies. He completed his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree in August of 1997, at which point he immediately began to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy degree. At the conclusion of his Ph.D. studies, Mr. Sterchi started work in industry as a systems engineer for fuel cell engine development company. |
