Dr. Najafi would like to express his appreciation to those who have contributed to the quality of this class. He wishes to thank Dr. Herbsman and Professor Shafer for their outstanding work on the class notes. He also recognizes the great value of the lectures and other presentations given by field consultants, contractors, civil engineering graduate students and other guest speakers.
Dr. Najafi also wishes to acknowledge the many hours of dedicated work involved in typing and formatting these class notes.
