2008 Family Weekend
Itinerary
Friday, February 15
8:00–- 10:00pm:
- Early check-in before the rush on Saturday
- Hors d’oeuvres reception at FL Crew President Adam Kallin’s house (directions posted below)
- Parents and alumni can come and mingle with members of the crew executive board and
the coaches
Saturday, February 16,

Parents begin to arrive at Florida Crew Boathouse. Activities on Lake Newnan, including: early morning reunion row for FL
Crew alumni, boathouse tour, erging lessons, rowing lessons, and BBQ lunch. We suggest you wear comfortable/athletic clothing and closed-toed shoes, like sneakers or Crocs. Also, bring camping chairs, picnic blankets, sunblock, and for all you handy moms and dads, tools/supplies (as our special project this year is to build wooden boat blocks and a small shed for our gas cans).
- 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The time between the end of the barbecue and the start of the banquet (from about 2-6pm), a local smoothie company, Smoothie Boost will be having a fund raiser for FL Crew. 10% of all sales in this time frame will go directly to us! Smoothie Boost is located on the north side of W. University Ave at NW 10th St. So please drop by to pickup a smoothie, mention you're with FL Crew, and save your receipt. We will be collecting all of the receipts.
- 6:00 pm
The banquet will take place Saturday night starting at 6pm at the Paramount Plaza Hotel Ballrooms A & B. The attire is dressy casual. The night will feature a terrific buffet, a silent auction, and "Hammer Awards" from the 2006-2007 season.
Sunday, February 17
9:00–- 11:00am:
- Enjoy a few rounds of family kickball on the UF campus
before hitting the road back home!
The donation for the costs of the whole weekend will be
$40 per adult/alumnus and $35 per child/rower.

From I-75: Take exit 387 (Newberry Road) East towards the UF campus. The road turns into University Ave at 34th Street, stay straight on this road. The O'Connell Center will be on the right. Take a left at the light at 21st Terrace. The house is on the right. If the street is full you can park across the street at the O'Connell Center (make a left on University and a right on Gale Lemerand).

Kickball
Kickball will be Sunday morning from about 10-11am. We will be playing on the Lake Alice Field on campus, across Museum Rd from the SAE lion (Frat Row).
