So we just went to Cedar Key (Not horseshoe, many ppl told us u cannot catch crab in cedar key. We caught 40+ crabs!!!!). Since we had no specific destination, we just drove around the key, and started our first trial on the shallow water, and caught some within around 1 hours, and got excited. We ended our first attempt after we got tired of the sun.
After lunch, we went around to look for a place under the shade. We happened to meet a nice Chinese guy who caught bunch of crabs (filled in almost the whole big cooler), from whom we got the "professional" direction to catch crabs.
The better place in CEDAR KEY , as far as we know, is the bridge on the way to the airport. U can find a white water tower nearby.
the best bait is chicken neck. ( leg is a second choice la)
The best time is when the tide is down ( u may check it out in the gainesvillesun or on the web. )
take some mosquitocide.
other tools: net, crab rope...
Enjoy it.
