Wednesday Update

Wednesday Updates are annoying, but there's one item from today's email that I don't mind so much:

4. LITTER ON CAMPUS: We've been getting many complaints from students about litter from advertising including ads from bars in their classrooms, their residence halls and on the campus grounds. Some businesses employ students to distribute their ads... Did you know that as a student advertising anything... your student group's activities or a local business, you're required to follow UF guidelines on distributing printed material? Those guidelines ONLY allow you to hand ads/flyers to others on a one-on-one basis and ONLY outside UF buildings. You may not leave piles of flyers around, throw them on the ground, seats or floors, or place on car windshields. Littering the campus, chalking walls and sidewalks, hanging flyers on walls and trees are all against the UF rules and the Student Conduct Code. If you are doing any of these activities, you could find yourself facing Judicial charges. If you see anyone doing this, you have the right to tell them to stop... It's YOUR campus! Help us all keep your campus clean and a place to be proud of... only distribute printed materials as allowed by UF rules: Distribution of Printed Material: http://www.aa.ufl.edu/aa/Rules/4006.htm. Commercial access to campus: http://www.aa.ufl.edu/aa/Rules/2003.htm. For further information, contact LB@union.ufl.edu.

Next time you see someone throwing flyers on the ground, do like they say: tell them to stop.
