Kick Ass Kick Elephant Kick Ball

Come to Southwest Rec at 1pm on April 6th as we show the College Republicans what we're made of... kickball style. This is a bipartisan philanthropy event to raise money for a worthy cause. $10 to play includes your donation, all the water you can drink, snacks and possibly a t-shirt.

Italian Quarter Social & Volunteering for Campus Kitchens

Join the College Democrats at Italian Quarter for food, fun and politics! On Sunday, February 24 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm we will be hosting a social at the Italian Quarter Bistro on 34th St. IQ is a trendy mix of Gelato desserts, sandwiches, paninis, and flatbreads. We will also be volunteering at Campus Kitchens on Wednesday, February 20th. Campus Kitchens is an organization that cooks for and feeds Gainesville's homeless. We will be showing up as volunteers to prepare these meals. No experience is necessary and the folks at Campus Kitchens make this a very a fun event. Please, come join us!

SB 1320, proposed by Sen. Jeremy Ring (D- Broward County), threatens to cut Bright Futures funding for students not studying math, science, and engineering, education, or health professions. If passed the effects will be felt by your pockets in the fall of 2008.

Super Tuesday Results Watching

This February 5th, 24 states will hold their primary elections: 52% of the pledged Democratic delegates and 41% of the pledged Republican delegates are UP FOR GRABS.

Come out to watch the results, come out to cheer on your favorite candidate-as we find out the next likely presidential nominees.

There will be a contest to show off your political IQ and TONS of FREE FOOD.

First UF College Democrats Meeting of 2008

We will be having our first meeting of the semester this and every Thursday at 7pm in BAR 211. Please note new day, new time, and new place!

The meeting will run about an hour. We have the following items on the agenda.

1. Introduction of New Officers for 2008
2. Committee's and Caucuses
3. Opportunities to get involved right now!
4. The Student Campaign Groups
5. Semester Plans
6. Discussion on the Democratic Primary

BAR is Bartram Hall which is located behind the old Natural History Museum (the building with the vines and grass growing on the exterior). It is near the Corner of Newell Drive and Museum Road. The easiest way to enter BAR is to take the stairs through the courtyard of the Museum from Museum road.
