Career Highlights
- 1986-87: Selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 11th pick in the
1987 NBA draft.
- 1987-88: Set an NBA rookie record with 61 three-pointers.
- 1988-89: Finished 9th in the NBA in 3-pt pct (.402). Set team
records in 3-pt made and attemptem. Also raised his scoring avg from 10.0
to 16.0 ppg.
- 1989-90: Became the first Pacer since 1977 to play in the All-Star
Game. Was runner-up for the NBA Most Improved Player Award. Finished
3rd in 3-pt made (150), 9th in 3-pt pct (.414), and 8th in scoring (24.6
ppg). Finished 2nd in the 3-PT Shootout at the All-Star Game.
- 1990-91: Led the NBA in FT pct (.918), setting a new club record.
Led the Pacers in scoring with 22.6 ppg and averaged 21.6 ppg in the
playoffs.
- 1991-92: Once again led the team in scoring (20.7 ppg). Became the
4th Pacer to score 7,500 career pts. Averaged 27.0 ppg and shot .581
from the field in the Pacers 1st round loss to the Celtics.
- 1992-93: Led the NBA with 167 three-pointers. Led the Pacers in
scoring with 21.2 ppg. Finished with a FT pct of .880 (7th) and a 3-PT
pct of .399 (13th). Scored career high 57 pts on Nov 28. Averaged 31.5
ppg in the playoffs. Hit 17-17 FT in Game 1 of the Pacers 1st round
loss to the Knicks, tying the record for FT accuracy in a playoff
game.
- 1993-94: Led the Pacers in scoring (19.9 ppg) for the 5th straight
season. Became the team's all-time leading scorer. Finished 2nd in the
NBA in FT pct (.908) and 3rd in 3-PT pct (.421). Led the Pacers to the
Eastern Conference Finals against the Knicks. Scored 25 points and was
5-7 from 3-PT range in the 4th quarter of game 5, leading the Pacers to
a 93-86 come from behind win.
- 1994-95: Finished 4th in the NBA in FT pct (.897) and 15th in 3-PT
pct (.415). Led the Pacers in scoring at 19.6 ppg. Averaged 25.5 ppg
in the playoffs, including 8 pts in the final 16.4 seconds of Game 1 of
the conference semis at New York to erase New York's 6-pt lead and win
the game. Went on to lead the Pacers back to the Eastern Conference
Finals, where they lost to Orlando in 7 games.
- 1995-96: Finished 8th in the league in FT pct (.863) and shot .410 from
3-PT range. Led the Pacers in scoring again with 21.1 ppg. Missed all
but one of the Pacers playoff games due to an eye injury, but did score
29 pts in Game 5 of the Pacers 1st round loss to the Hawks.
