Career Highlights
- 1991-92: Led Cincinnati to a Final Four appearance.
- 1992-93: Led the Bearcats back to the Elite Eight. Was drafted in
the 2nd round (37th pick) by the Los Angeles Lakers.
- 1993-94: Became the Lakers starting point guard and averaged 13.6
pts game (6th among rookies) and 5.8 assists per game (2nd among
rookies). Set a team record for 3-PT made with 123.
- 1994-95: Finished 6th in the league in assists with 8.3 per game and
improved his scoring to 16.9 ppg, scoring 35 or more in four games. Led
the Lakers back into the playoffs and averaged 24.8 ppg in the Lakers
1st round win over Seattle. He then single-handedly won Game 5 of the
Conference Semis against the Spurs with a buzzer beater to send the game
to OT and another to win the game in OT.
- 1995-96: His scoring and assist averages dropped a little bit, but
still had a very good season. Averaged 14.9 ppg and 6.9 assists per
game. He and Magic Johnson led the Lakers to the playoffs again, but
lost to Houston in the 1st round.
