From the ancient cypress swamps of Wewahitchka, Chester Udell is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Florida in Music Composition with Electrical Engineering emphasis. He received his Bachelor of Music/Digital Arts from Stetson University (2005) and his Masters of Music Composition at the University of Florida. He is the instructor for MUS 1360 "Introduction to Music Technology." His interests include: Acoustic Ecology, Field Recording, Composition, Electrical Engineering (digital systems, interfaces, wireless communication), Circuit Bending, and building Autonomous Musical Agents.

He is the 1st prize recipient of the SEAMUS/ASCAP Student Commission Competition 2010 - one of the highest student honors for electroacoustic music in the United States.

Chester Udell was part of the inception of Stetson University's Mobile Performance Group in 2003 with Matt Roberts and Nathan Wolek and was an active performer in the ensemble through 2006.

His works have been performed throughout the country including Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival, SEAMUS, Electroacoustic Juke Joint, CHASM (FSU), AFCS (USF), Unbalanced Connection (UF), UW-Madison, 12-Nights (Miami), Art Basel (Miami), MGMC (Northwestern U.), SCI Region 4, SCI Student National, Festival for the moving Image (Tampa), PROVFLUX (Providence), and NYCEMF. He is also an active performer of his primary instrument, the Bass Trombone.

His Music is due to appear on the Summit record label and the SEAMUS CD Series in late 2010 or early 2011.
