Prizes:
Judges will
evaluate each submission on its clarity, coherence, and how well
it relates to the topic. Essays should be well written and free
of grammatical and mechanical errors. Prizes will be awarded for
the best essays as assessed by a panel of judges comprised of Black
Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) members and University of Florida
faculty.
The top three
essays will be selected. Winners will be notified in writing by
January 6, 2006. The first-prize winner will be given an opportunity
to read his/her essay on January 15, 2006, at our 20th Annual Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Celebration Winners will receive
a small scholarship, along with a certificate. These prizes will
be presented at the ceremony.
Deadline:
All essays
must be submitted by December 15, 2005 (Late submissions will not
be accepted.)
