Many years later, people are now singing the praises of Nostradamus.
Could predicting the outcome of Gator games bring me the same kind of
clout? You be the judge....
- November 21, 1996, Tallahassee, FL
- After the Seminoles went up
17-0, I turned to Julius, a fellow Gatorsax, and told him that things
would only get better from here. We scored two straight touchdowns to
narrow it to 17-14.
- January 2, 1997, New Orleans, LA
- During a the band's pregame practice, I remarked to Julius that the Seminoles didn't know what was coming.
Just before the game, I made a bet with Ed, another Gatorsax, that the
Gators would win by more than ten points. Unable to buy me the Hand
Grenade as part of the deal, I settled for two milks from Cafe Du Monde.
- January 1, 1998, Orlando, FL
- Just before the game I made a bet with
Jay, yet another Gatorsax, that the Gators would win by more than 12 points.
I still have not received the case of Icehouse that he owes me.
- October 2, 1999, Gainesville, FL
- In what as to be an awful day for any Gator fan, we watched as our Gators were lining up to
attempt a two-point coversion after we drove the length of the field for a touchdown. Michael Huff, a fellow
Gatorsax, asked me what I thought the play was going to be. "Tight end," I said. "Where?" he replied. "To the right,
into the flat." I should admit that this was not really that great of a call since we had thrown to the tight end on the
same type of play twice during the drive.
