Welcome to A.C.E.S. Mentoring Society! |
Our Purpose |
A.C.E.S. is a non-profit student organization at the University of Florida . Our purpose is to promote academic success throughout our community. This society consists of graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Florida who are interested in having a positive influence on their fellow students at our university as well as K-12 students throughout our community. |
Our Mission |
A.C.E.S. Mentoring Society is focused on providing mentoring services and promoting academic success for students of all ages. We feel that it is our duty to provide a wide variety of educationally stimulating activities that will cultivate a progressive environment in which the children can grow and prosper to ensure a bright future. Our mission is to provide a strong foundation in our community to allow students to reach new heights and attain their dreams. |
A Brief Overview of What We Do |
Our mentors are committed to making a difference in students' lives, not only through academics, but also through being a friend as well. Undergrads and Grads will be working together in various fields of study to give and receive advice while building friendships and improving their mentoring skills. |
Our involvement in the community |
We visit high schools to share our experiences with the students and to give them advice We go to elementary, middle, and high schools to work with the students to do creative writing to encourage creative thought and proper writing techiniques. We sponsor events such as College Day at UF and at a high school, picnics, and holiday events and food, toy, and school supply collection drives. Together, our mentors can make a difference in the lives of many students. Through our efforts we will guide others and help them make the best of their future while at the same time we will learn to excel in all aspects of our lives as well. A.C.E.S. Mentoring Society respects each and every one of its members. We look forward to working with a diverse group of students of all backgrounds so that together we can make a great positive impact on our community. |
