We do not require you to wear a speedo and neither do the tournament rules.  Wear whatever you are comfortable wearing.

Do I have to wear a speedo?

Please feel free to email me with any additional question you might have regarding underwater hockey or the University of Florida club.

Underwater hockey is unique in the fact that there is no experience needed to play.  Each player on the team has started with no experience at the college level and grown to the level that they are at, whereas in other sports at the University of Florida experience is either required or suggested.

All you need is your gator1 ID, a bathing suit and towel.  We will provide all the equipment you need to play.

Fins:  Full foot fins like Mares Quattro or Technisub Stratos

Mask/snorkel:  Mask with 2 separate eye pieces.  Preferably low profile with clear

side pieces.  Speak with Dave.

Non water polo headgear:  EBAY: ASICS half moon headgear

UF Speedo:  Will be ordering next semester

We go to almost all tournaments on the east coast and as many as we can make on the west coast. Anywhere between one and three a semester.  Nationals is usually held in the summer.  And we always encourage beginners to come out to tournaments and experience first hand the competitiveness and fun of the sport.

You have to be able to swim 200 yards at your own pace and tread water for five minutes as part of the mandatory University of Florida swim test.  In order to play Underwater Hockey there is no swimming experience required.  You will be equipped with fins which will allow you to move a lot faster underwater.

Why should I play Underwater Hockey instead of the various other club sports offered at University of Florida?

How often to you go to Tournaments and are beginners allowed to come?

I would like to purchase my own equipment,  what is the best equipment for Underwater Hockey?

What do I need to bring to the pool?

Do I have to be a good swimmer?
