Progressive Black Men, Inc. is neither a greek lettered organization, greek alternative, nor does it aspire to be. Progressive Black Men is a "Professional, Service Organization". Being a professional, service organization embodies true service on the communal, civic, and national level; as well as cultivating an avenue for professional enrichment and growth.
Membership into Progressive Black Men Inc. is a solemn commitment. A member is bonded to a lifelong dedication and commitment to the ideas, purpose, and mission of Progressive Black Men. They must also have a desire to strive for, and achieve goals for himself, the community and the organization. When a man is inducted into this organization he accepts the responsibility for a devoted effort that will forward the organization, the community, and also himself. "Progressive Black Men" implies a positive group of indivduals who are well-rounded, respectful, educated, and aware. Whereas one goal of Progressive Black Men, Inc. is to correct the apparent negative image of black males in today's society.
SISTUHS Inc. is the sister organization to Progressive Black Men. It is a community service organization whose goal is to foster an environment conducive to learning about the history and role women of color have in this society and develop local leadership to respond to the community needs, particularly those of women.

Progressive Black Men, Inc. originated on the campus of Florida State University on November 27th, 1989. Since then we have grown to establish chapters at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, the University of Florida, and the University of South Florida, and St. Leo University. For more infomation on expanding our organization to your campus, click here. We also have a national headquarters.
