 Goals
of the class are:
- To
know the history of Integrated Pest Management in agriculture,
before and after the development of synthetic pesticides,
involving diseases, insects and mites, nematodes, and weeds
- To
understand the core concepts and strategies of IPM including
population dynamics, biological control, genetic resistance,
environmental modification, economic thresholds, monitoring,
and identification
- To
become familiar with cases of turf and ornamental IPM.
