Degree Requirements
B.S. in Golf and Sports Turf Management

For advisement please contact Dr. Phil Busey at 954-577-6337 or turf@ufl.edu and/or Academic Programs at 954-577-6371 to plan your University of Florida Baccalaureate of Science or B.S. degree.

You can earn your B.S. at Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center, and you never have to leave South Florida. We are located in Davie, Broward County. Once you contact us we will explain the program and ask you to provide us with a copy of past transcripts, if you have prior college. If not, let's talk.

Maybe you are a Junior in High School, planning your career? Call us now. Maybe you have a prior degree or education abroad? Maybe you don't want a degree? We also offer a Certificate Program. We can work together on a successful future degree program. We will verify if you have the necessary prerequisites for the program, and discuss your options.

Fort Lauderdale REC offers only the Junior and Senior year (semesters 5-8) classes for Golf and Sports Turf Management B.S., or Baccalaureate of Science degree. Most students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida Community College, or the equivalent, have already completed the necessary classes for the Freshman and Sophomore years of the B.S. degree. Other students who do not have the Associate of Arts degree may have to take a few classes or many classes before getting into the program. It varies, so we'll work with you to make sure you get what you need to matriculate, or enroll in the degree program, and then graduate.

The statewide curriculum for the Golf and Sports Turf Management major, with course tracking, is explained in the current UF Undergraduate Catalog:
