Professor Ed Meyer, Ph.D. Center for Neurobiology of Aging Health Science Center University of Florida O. Box 100267 Gainsville, FL 32610 0267 U S A Fax: (904) 392-9696 September 14, 1998 Dear Prof. Meyer, One month and half has already passed since we met you last at Amsterdam, and how are you, Prof. Meyer ? I got your proposal on the next step study of GTS-21 and also from related scientists separately via Dr. Kitagawa . First of all, we have to stress that you and Dr. Kem are the project leader of GTS-21. Therefore, we ask you to organize the project at University of Florida. Our proposal is that we provide our budget limited to US$ 100,000 to the foundation of University of Florida because we have to overcome taxation problems. Otherwise we cant. Furthermore, we ask you to conduct this project in collaboration with only scientists at University of Florida in order to avoid the patent right confusion. In this connection, your responsible person in patent issues at University of Florida accepts our idea. Because such idea is recommended by Ms Bond at University of Florida and also our intention. In order to settle the budget and study plan, the writer and Dr. Takenouchi would like to visit University of Florida on October 7th with Dr. Clody, if he is available. Could you let me know your reply at your earliest convenience. We are ready to send you the amendment previously then we want to conclude the agreement when we visit you to proceed the matter quickly. That means we make a remittance of US$ 100,000 to the foundation within October. Of course we must discuss the Appendix with you previously in the manner above mentioned, that is, involved scientists in this project are limited to those at University of Florida. To make sure again, this is a recommendation by Ms Bond and also our intention. Recently, we have disclosed our data package to TAP Pharmaceutical because they are so eager to evaluate feasibility of GTS-21. You had received some history of TAP via Dr. Kitagawa. TAP have been contacted us since early this year and eventually we accepted their ambition. Unfortunately, several companies to which we had already disclosed the data have not reported any intention to date. TAP is the nearly last comer but they are so aggressive and have requested us to make access by themselves to Dr. Meyer, one of the project leader of GTS-21 in case they have some questions. We admitted their proposal, of which we have not informed you. Sorry, anyhow we ask you to disclose them only published data which probably we provided to them under the CDA and up-date information which has been published at Amsterdam in this July. Thank you very much for your continuous cooperation and looking forward to your comment, I remain. Sincerely Yours, Yoshitsugu Itoh Deputy Director International Department cc: Dr. Clody, Dr. Takenouchi and Dr. Kitagawa .A( , -uchc6x 4\" $ *,TV@BDd 48. 48.!P@Wa A@i̫ ! -v[` %_ d " , - 1 d i o y ] dZZ^[&C:\My Documents\Professor Ed Meyer.doc dZZ^[A:\Professor Ed Meyer.doc@LP9SF302\\Hq1p330_1\lp9sf302E_PAGE21LP9SF302LP9SF302 s1dSL01$)}pT2)UTTy$7 TW7W %px X?'@dLP9SF302 s1dSL01$)}pT2)UTTy$7 TW7W %px X?'@dnlr 5lr SVbNTimes New Roman Symbol &Arial Century pShs)&s)&s)& 2!%),.:;?]} ABCDEFGHIJKRSTUXfhjlnprtvxz$([\{ egikmoqsuwyBProfessor Ed Meyer, Ph dZZ^[ dZZ^[ !Root Entry FB߽xt߽޽WordDocument#)CompObjf(MSummaryInformationP#GdPdPIdPJdPY(b FMicrosoft Word MSWordDocWord.Document.69qOh+'0 (4 \ h t Professor Ed Meyer, PhjH dZZ^[PapIRH W.dotM dZZ^[eye2LMicrosoft Word for WDocumentSummaryInformation8 ՜.+,0HPpx QiHƊF Professor Ed Meyer, Phindows 95@@߽@S߽@S߽ ՜.+,0HPpx QiHƊF Professor Ed Meyer, Ph
